It’s not a very original theme, but Vegas Hits does its best to replicate the feeling that you get from Las Vegas, and in doing so it adds to the reels elements connected to the different popular gambling activities of the city. You’re looking at one of Bally’s slots, a game that’s likely to be found in land based casinos, just as easily as in online ones.
Vegas Hits delivers big when it comes to payouts, as much as $400,000 being awarded in its best features. Going beyond that, it’s a 5 reels slot with 40 fixed paylines. Expect to find Poker Chip Multipliers, scatter symbols, a Bonus Wheel and as a result of it there will be free spins with wild reels and other types of extras.
Betting
Placing the bet is not very different here, compared with other Bally slots. There are the same 40 fixed lines, and the wagers for them range from $0.40 to $400, which means that the usual $0.01 to $10 line bets are employed.
Vegas Hits Jackpot
One of the game’s features promises the best rewards, paying up to 1,000x total bet. That’s a jackpot of $400,000 that could be yours if you play Vegas Hits. Among the regular symbols, the Las Vegas sign will deliver up to 1,000 coins, or $10,000. Naturally, you get 40 lines, so in theory you could get $400,000 by filling up the reels with these symbols.
A 94.05% Return to Player is available, not very different from what I generally expect to find in a Bally slot, especially if it’s available in land casinos as well. It’s not a great figure for an online slot though, even among the Las Vegas themed titles.
Special Features
The base game doesn’t give you all that much, but once you reach certain features, there will be all the variety that you want, especially when it comes to the free spins.
Poker Chip Multipliers
These are scatter symbols that you can see appear on the reels. Each one that does will pay an amount, multiplying the total bet by the number written on the chip. You can get a 1x, 5x, 10x or 25x prize out of it, so a single icon can pay as much as $10,000.
Bonus Wheel
The center 3 reels can get scattered Bonus Wheel icons, and they will be used to activate the corresponding feature. There are a lot of different types of free spins that can be triggered through the Bonus Wheel, depending on which option it spins and stops.
You might get 8 spins which have the last two reels wild, 3 spins with a 1st reel as a wild, 1 spin with all symbols paying as scatters, 3 spins where the low-paying Dice is a wild, 5 spins that each get another reel turned into a wild, 3 spins with the first and last reels as wilds, 1 spin with the middle three reels wild, 3 spins with Cherry Wilds, 2 spins with reels 2 and 4 as wilds, 3 spins with only top paying symbols present, 1 spin with the 1st, 3rd and 5th reels as wilds, 3 spins with 7 Wilds, a Money Wheel Spin or a few other types of free spins.
As you can see from the very long list of free spins variants I’ve mentioned above, you really can trigger the free spins a dozen times and get a different experience every single time. You don’t get a lot of free spins, but the extra features tend to make them highly profitable.
Money Wheel
Activating this wheel is done via special Money Wheel icons, once again from the middle three columns. The rewards mentioned on this wheel are multipliers to be used against the total stake of the round, and they reach 1,000x. This is the point where a $400,000 jackpot becomes possible.
Design
I wouldn’t say that the design of Vegas Hits is one of its strong suits. The game delivers the Las Vegas connection quite well through its symbols and the nighttime image of the city from the background, but the quality isn’t high.
Among its symbols you will discover dice, 7s, cherries, spades, cards, roulette, slots or the Las Vegas sign, along with various poker chips or Wheel icons.
Summary
If you want to play a Las Vegas themed game, Vegas Hits will do a good job at turning the city into a slot, and it’s got good features and high potential of up to 1,000x the stake. It doesn’t have a very high RTP though.
