Caesar to Open New Poker Room in New Orleans

Caesars Entertainment has announced that its new World Series of Poker Room and Caesars Sportsbook will launch in the autumn at Harrah’s New Orleans.

The $325 million projects comprise a 340-room hotel tower, extensive interior and exterior renovations, and the addition of new food options. The ultimate objective is to construct a luxury resort in the French Quarter of the city.

Plans presented to the New Orleans Building Corporation indicate that Harrah’s, the city’s only land-based casino, would undergo a significant renovation.

The openings are a part of the $325 million transformation of Harrah’s New Orleans into Caesars New Orleans. Initial casino plans call for constructing a 340-room hotel tower on the current valet entrance.

The sportsbook is a 5,700-square-foot amenity with four betting windows, twelve self-service betting kiosks, and a “fantastic” television and sound system, according to the firm.

New dining options within the casino, an expansion of unused space on the second floor, and enhancements to the casino’s interior and exterior architecture and style.

The New Casino

It will be placed adjacent to the largest poker room in Louisiana, a 5,000-square-foot area with 20 poker tables and complimentary drinks at each table. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 a.m., and Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 a.m.

A 147-foot television screen and a high-tech, high-output sound system will guarantee that clients never miss a play and always have access to the most recent odds.

In addition to seating for 140 people, the sportsbook will feature a Fan Cave with multiple screens where up to 10 people can watch privately and a large bar with space for 28 additional sports lovers.

The regional president of Caesars Entertainment, Dan Real, stated:

“Caesars Sportsbook at Harrah’s New Orleans will be the premier sports betting and viewing destination in the South.

The freshly constructed poker room will feature a range of live poker games that both novice and seasoned players will appreciate. The competition will intensify when weekly poker tournaments are held on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday.

This first-rate sportsbook will provide Louisiana’s sports lovers and our many guests with an unrivaled game day experience.

Caesars recognizes the significance of sports, entertainment, and hospitality to the people of Louisiana, and this sportsbook will demonstrate our dedication to the state and its residents.”

What to Expect

Caesars has a long history of providing New Orleans and the state of Louisiana with the best sports and entertainment opportunities available. The World Series of Poker Room and the Caesars Sportsbook add to that legacy.

Caesars is also refurbishing its Lake Charles resort, which will soon reopen as Horseshoe Lake Charles, constructing a new sportsbook at Horseshoe Bossier City, and investing millions in Harrah’s New Orleans.

The projected World Series of Poker Room is another significant addition to Harrah’s. Caesars has announced that there will be three weekly tournaments on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.

The General Manager of Harrah’s New Orleans, Samir Mowad, stated,

“The World Series of Poker name is synonymous with the best poker experience, so it only makes right that we construct a poker room that matches up to its reputation.”

Samir Mowad, the general manager of Harrah’s in New Orleans, claims that the remodeled location will provide poker enthusiasts with a luxurious area to play. He continued by stating that the new poker room would be a venue for friendly competition and numerous unforgettable victories.

“We will accomplish this by providing the finest possible environment for people to enjoy our games while also making them competitive in a way that fosters friendships and provides our winners a great sense of accomplishment.”

Local relationships exist between Caesars and the New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans, and LSU Athletics. Additionally, they have a groundbreaking 20-year naming rights agreement with the Saints for the Caesars Superdome, which will host Super Bowl LIX in 2025.

Caesars Entertainment has participated in several major rehabilitation projects in Louisiana, including Harrah’s. The business also intends to renovate its Lake Charles resort, which will be renamed to Horseshoe Lake Charles.
