Midnight Diamonds is present among Bally’s many slot machines, and what it adds to their large collection is a theme that’s inspired mostly by classic elements and jewelry. It’s going to be heavy on the red and a bit dated visually, but there are other things inside that will compensate, mostly through features. Once again, we’re looking at a land-based slot that’s turned into an online game, something that Bally has done with a lot of their titles.
A game with 30 active lines, usable on 5 regular-sized reels, Midnight Diamonds has wilds and scatters, as well as a Diamond Stacks feature, a Wheel Bonus and free spins. Top wins of $9,000 are going to come from each combination of wilds that you form, while the RTP is on the low side at 93.98%.
Midnight Diamonds is playable with wagers as low as $0.30, which will be enough to place a stake of $0.01 on each line that is available. At the other end, the betting range will reach $450, at which point you’d have $15 wagered on each line. Not everyone will afford using the maximum bet, but those that want to get that high can do so.
Midnight Diamonds Jackpot
Wins of 600x, or up to $9,000, will be formed on the lines of Midnight Diamonds by its wild symbols. Even better, look for the Wheel Bonus if you want the highest payout that the game can deliver. It’s at 60x the stake, not exactly impressive, but it can still mean a reward of $27,000 cash.
Once again, we’re not finding the highest RTP in this Bally slot machine. The majority of the land-based slots that they transformed into online games will have the same Return, of slightly below 94%. In Midnight Diamonds, it’s at 93.98%.
The mix of features that were implemented in Midnight Diamonds has wild symbols, scatters, bonus games and free spins, so it should give you plenty to do.
There are several types of Wild symbols that you can get in this slot machine, but at their core they work in a similar way. They can form combinations together, so wins of up to $9,000 can be paid for mixed formations of 3 to 5 wilds. They are replacement symbols other times, which is in most rounds where they make appearances.
Wheel Bonus Feature
Accessing the Wheel Bonus is possible during the rounds where you get Bonus Logo icons scattered on reels 1, 3 and 5. A single spin of the wheel of fortune is given. You have to Spin the wheel then, and get a reward between 5x and 60x the bet, or free spins (8, 10 or 12 rounds).
Free Games Feature
You can only get the free spins through the Wheel Bonus, as I mentioned above. You have 8 to 12 free spins to play through, without the possibility to re-trigger this feature. The reels are going to be different here, with bonus and wild symbols being removed from them.
Each reel gets a Midnight Diamonds Award at the top, and you activate it if you get a Diamond icon to appear on the middle payline or within one position of it. It could be a Wild symbol or a Wild Reel that is obtained this way.
The midnight that the game’s title mentions is not a very clear theme, and the slot prefers using classics for its symbols anyway. There is a lot of red in the design, with the background showing black skyscrapers against a red sky, while the reels host symbols with Wild or Bonus logos, with Dollar Signs, Money Bags, Diamond Rings, Bells, Sevens, Bar logos and Cherries. Most of these can be considered classics.
The graphics don’t look particularly impressive, but they will do. They’re not that different from most games with classic origins.
I like that the features are well thought out and give you enough excitement, even as the RTP is low and the graphics average at best.
