The Wizard of Oz Wicked Riches by WMS – Slot Machine Review
Wizard of Oz is one of the popular slot machine series which WMS is offering, and Wicked Riches is one of the five titles available in it at the moment. Obviously, the wealth theme has been mixed in as well, so as we get a focus on the witches of Oz, we also have riches to win from the game. Along with the base version, with Emerald City, Road to Emerald City and Ruby Slippers, Wicked Riches is part of a series which can offer a lot of excitement.
30 lines are given for the 5×3 reels of Wizard of Oz: Wicked Riches. You might get one of the fixed jackpots, of up to $2,000, or you could win as much as $24,000 by filling up the reels with Jackpot symbols. As for the rest of the game, the developer announces for it scatter symbols, free spins or wilds, all great to have and make use of.
Betting is quite cheap in this game, and in fact there are options to wager only $0.01 to $0.08 per active line. With the 30 fixed lines of this slot, you end up with bets of $0.30, $0.60, $0.90, $1.20 or $2.40 per spin. You click on the option you want, and it’s set for the round.
Wicked Riches Jackpot
The best win of Wicked Riches is going to pay 1,000x for a combination of five Jackpot symbols. The potential for a single round is for 30,000x, but given the small line bets which can be selected, this means at most $24,000. An alternative is one of the fixed jackpots, revolving around Emerald City ($2,000), Haunted Forest ($200), Munchkinland ($25) or Kansas ($10).
It’s obviously a game that’s built for the penny slot player, quite cheap to play even at its highest, and it’s going to have a good Return to Player, of 96.01%.
Don’t go in expecting unusual features, they’re fairly common ones, but that doesn’t make them pay less.
For these particular symbols, they chose to use the logo of the series, so it spells Wizard of Oz, with a rainbow behind it. You may use these symbols to create winning combinations of other types, though the Jackpot icons can’t use them as substitutes. Neither do the scatters. The wild’s own combinations pay directly, but they don’t offer all that much, only 100 coins for five symbols.
The slot’s only scatter symbol will have a logo with Wicked Riches Bonus written on it. Scattered in 3, 4 or 5 locations, in a single round, these symbols will trigger the special feature and they can give away a prize of up to 100x the stake as well.
For this feature, the rewards will reach values of up to 7x total bet. The selection you make from the barn will also give you access to the feature, with the odds of this happening being better if you have a higher bet. With the maximum bet, feature selection is guaranteed. This feature is also where you can get one of the fixed jackpots, if you get that far.
Wicked Riches is based on the Wizard of Oz story and it’s built especially to have a bigger focus on its witches. There are other slots in the series, and I recommend them all if you want to follow all the adventures of Dorothy. They’re well designed, better than average usually, and I appreciated the choice of only themed symbols inside.
You get images of the witch, of her flying broom, of Oz, of Dorothy’s companions, hourglasses, witch hats, owls or pails of water, as well as several logos for the game’s features.
Wizard of Oz: Wicked Riches is a good game, part of a popular series which is all worth playing. Expect a good RTP and a couple of the usual features, so there isn’t anything too unique in there.
