RTG, or Realtime Gaming as it’s often known in the industry, is an older company, established in 1998. This means that they’ve been creating content and offering their games and platform for more than two decades. They’re among the most experienced developers right now, but they didn’t quite manage to reach the top. As far as US players go, in RTG casinos they have one of the few solutions which will work for them. Their popularity tends to be quite high in that region, and once you consider the 300+ games from their collection (120+ slots), you will understand why.
It’s not only a developer of casino games, they also offer casinos the platform on which they have the back-end as well. Through it, the operator is able to manage data, get reports, attract and handle players, and do everything else they need to run a company of this type.
They offer them guidance when they’re starting up, they have ways to make players engage more with the content, loyalty programs which can be implemented, a bonus system and a comprehensive customer care program. The RTG content can also be integrated into other platforms, alongside sports books for example.
The three major platforms which RTG offers online are Mobile, Instant Play and Download, and the players may pick the one that they prefer. Though the most popular, the Mobile option has the smallest number of titles released for it so far. RTG is even present in land-based locations, via its own kiosk platforms, which are still Internet-connected.
The content offered by RTG is considered fair, and they have an independent auditor to certify that. Their games are tested by TST, and they offer truly random results.
History of RTG
It’s a company which started out in 1998, in Atlanta, United States. They eventually moved their business to Costa Rica, and then to Curacao, which is also the jurisdiction where they get their gaming license from. This is one of the few developers that are US players friendly, and so many of the casinos targeting this market will use their software and large collection of games. RTG was bought by Hastings International in early 2007, which is when they went to Curacao.
The company is one of the most successful these days, and their collection of casino games is among the biggest you can find from a single developer.
RTG has 300+ games to offer players, the majority of which will be slot machines. Every other category seems to be covered though, so you have video poker, table games, and even Live Dealer tables.
I’ve noticed some impressive designs from their slot machines, though mostly in the recent ones. The older games are far less impressive. Take a look at Kung Fu Rooster, Swindle All The Way or Lucha Libre 2, and you will love them.
Some of the features which RTG has developed for their games, and which are actually registered trademarks, are called Feature Guarantee, Boiling Point Jackpot, Jackpot Pyramid, Suit em Up or Vegas Three Card Rummy.
Out of the features I mentioned, the Boiling Point Jackpot, should probably get more attention, as it delivers prizes of up to 1 million EUR. The other jackpots offered, either for slots or table games, are also going to be good targets for the players to aim for.
Another market in which RTG has dabbled is the Live Dealer category. They offer Vegas quality games there, dealers which are attractive and friendly, and the experience tends to be pretty good.
I’ve found quite a few popular games coming from RTG, a developer that has done a lot over the years in this area. Slots like Asgard, Cash Bandits, Count Spectacular, Popinata or Builder Beaver are currently played at an above average rate at the casinos which offer RTG content.
Highest RTP Games
This part mostly depends on the casino, as RTG gives them the option to set up the RTP for their own games. I’d look for a casino which offers this information to its players, otherwise you might be getting slot machines with a low RTP. The three settings offered by RTG allow casinos to use RTP of 97.5%, 94% to 95% or 91% to 91.50%. Obviously, you’d want a casino which has the maximum RTP selected.
